Blue Moon Fish Company
Blue Moon is absolutely amazing with some of the freshest quality seafood in South Florida. I have eaten here countless times and have never been disappointed. It's pricey but worth it. One of my personal favorites is the crab crusted grouper; I also love the blackened Mahi and calamari.
Kevin's Sushi
Kevin's Sushi is hands down, by far the best sushi I have ever had in my life. It is impossible to explain how good it is. Every dish is bursting with flavor with unmatched quality and freshness. My favorite dishes are the Wahoo tataki, Himachi jalapeno, and the crispy tuna. I also love the Avocado Bomb, which is not on the menu.
The Fish Shack
This place started off as a literal shack with one thing: amazing seafood. They've since moved into a larger location, but I do miss the "local shack" vibe. Their seafood is no-frills and fish-forward. I usually go with the blackened Grouper or cracked conch.
Papas Raw Bar
This is a great local place, and one of the few places you can get a soft-shell crab. I love the fried Wahoo bites, alligator, spicy tuna, and of course the soft-shell crab.
Lionfish
Everything here is amazing--not just the seafood, but all the food, drinks, and ambiance. The quality is out of this world and the presentation highlights the effort behind each dish. I've tried quite a few things and liked them all. The steak tar tar animal style blew my mind as well as the "Pittsburgh" style filet. The sushi and seafood also impressed me.
The Whale's Rib
This place is a local staple. They have one damn good blackened wahoo sandwich, and their whale fries are addictively good. It may not look like much from the outside, but their food is incredible.
Old Key Lime House
Not only does this place have great food, but they've got great views to match. It has a local vibe to it, and they are known for their crab, as the owner is from Maryland. Their crab cake was certainly one of the best I've had. I also enjoy their fish dip made from Mahi and Wahoo, blackened Grouper tacos with 6oz of Grouper per taco, and their amazing homemade key lime pie.
Lazy Days Islamorada
Seafood doesn't get much fresher than the Florida Keys, and Lazy Days takes advantage of that. Great vibes and great food. My favorites are the Lazy Gator, conch fritters, jalapeno encrusted yellow tail snapper, and a simple hog fish sandwich.
Coconuts
Coconuts is an awesome place for food and vibes. I go specifically for the scoobies. If you've never had them, then I suggest you do so. They are a game changer. You can thank me later. ;)
Oceanic
Although this is a seafood place, I started with the beef Carpaccio, and it was some of the best I've had. The seafood didn't disappoint either. I love the blackened Tripple Tail when they have it, and their salmon is amazing too. Don't miss out on the key lime creme brulee and the sunrise fizz cocktail!
Latitudes
Latitudes does a nice job balancing intense flavors without overshadowing the food. The presentation is also amazing--every dish looks like a work of art. I love the Himachi jalapeno sashimi and the lump crab crusted grouper. For those who prefer land over sea, their tenderloin filet is also incredible.
The Rusy Hook Tavern
This is an awesome place for great food, ambiance, and views. I loved the blackened Wahoo cooked rare and the crab crusted Mahi. Not only were the flavors on point, but everything was cooked perfectly. I recommend starting off with their tuna poke nachos.
